PRECIPITATION BY ORGANIC SOLVENTS

• To 1 ml of the protein solution, add 95% alcohol drop by drop.
• Precipitation occurs due to removal of water of salvation around the protein molecule, as well as due to decrease in the dielectric constant of water, thus favoring protein –protein interaction.
