STRUCTURE OF RODS AND CONES

Rods and cones have 3 parts

  • Outer segment – Photoreceptor part, has stacked membrane discs with VISUAL PHOTOPIGMENTS.
  • Inner segment – Has nucleus, mitochondria and cytoplasm.
  • Synaptic Termial – Synapse with bipolar cells.
