Fibroblasts, Acute and Chronic inflammatory tissue

FIBROBLASTS, ACUTE AND CHRONIC INFLAMMATORY TISSUE

Fibroblasts

Fibroblasts

Note the spindle shaped appearance of cells. Nuclei oval; collagen processes at the extremities. Immature cells are more plump with less of collagen.

Acute inflammation

Acute inflammatory tissue

Note the vascular reaction as evidenced by the engorgement of the capillaries and marked neutrophilic infiltration in the area

Chronic inflammation

Chronic inflammatory tissue

Note the predominant cellular reaction chiefly of lymphocytes and fibroblasts; vascular reaction is scanty
