HOT AIR OVEN

• It is also an insulated chamber similar to an Incubator but devised to maintain high temperatures upto 300C. The temperature is maintained by electrical heaters, a mechanism for air circulation and a thermostat.
• Hot air oven is used for sterilization of articles by dry heat. The articles are exposed to a temperature of 160C for 1-2 hours. Glass wares and powders can be sterilized in a hot air oven.
