MORPHOLOGY OF CHABERTIA OVINA

These worms occur in the colon of sheep, goats, cattle and other ruminants.

  • The anterior end is curved slightly ventral and the large buccal capsule opens anterio-ventrally.
  • Oral aperture is surrounded by a double row of small cuticular elements representing leaf crowns.
  • There is a shallow ventral cervical groove and anterior to it is a slightly inflated cephalic vesicle.
  • Male bursa is well developed with a gubernaculum.
