HEADING

  • The hide is opened  from the horn to the nostril and the dorsal aspect of the face is skinned out .
  • The opening is continued from the sticking point down through the centre of the jaw and the lateral aspects of the face is skinned out .
  • The head is turned and  the ventral aspects are skinned.
  • The jaw is graspped in one hand,  the head is bent back on its poll and the head  is removed by cutting at the atlanto-occipital joint, leaving the hide of the head attached to the hide of the carcass
