BOTTLE

  • Stock bottle
    • Stock bottle is a narrow mouthed glass bottle with glass stopper.
    • The capacity is usually 1-3 litres, which is used to store large volumes of stock solution.
  • Dispensing bottle
    • Dispensing bottle is a narrow mouthed glass bottle with a glass stopper, normally of 100 ml capacity but is also available in different capacities.
    • It is used for dispensing medicines, usually liquids.
  • Amber coloured stock bottle
    • Amber colour stock bottle is a brown coloured bottle with a lid.
    • It is brown in colour to avoid any degradation or oxidation of drug on exposure to sunlight.
  • Poison bottle 
    • Poison bottle is a triangular or hexangular shaped blue colour bottle in which one side is serrated and other side is smooth. This gives an indication that the medicine contained inside is a poison.
    • Serrations on bottle can be felt by touch.
