Dilution and concentration of solution

DILUTION AND CONCENTRATION OF SOLUTIONS

  • To obtain the volume of fluid needed to dilute a particular fluid to a required concentration or To obtain the concentration of a diluted or concentrated fluid from an original solution, the following formula can be used.

Volume of fluid A x its conc. = Volume of fluid B x its conc.

  • It can also be calculated by calculating the actual quantum of dissolved solute and the final volume of solvent and the proceed to calculate the strength.
