6. Lovebirds

The genus group Agapornis are referred to as lovebirds and are native to Africa. There are nine species, three species are fairly common. Lovebirds are very hardy and long-lived. They make excellent pets and tame readily if obtained at a young age; older birds may become aggressive. Determining the sex of lovebirds is difficult.
