CHEMICAL RESTRAINTS

  • A number of drugs or drug combinations are used to sedate or immobilize cats.
  • Ketamine hydrochloride is the drug of choice for sedation and immobilization of cats.
  • Ketamine may also be sprayed into the mouth of a fractious cat.
  • The effects of Telazsole persist longer than those of Ketamine, making it less desirable for short diagnostic procedures which the cat will be returned to the owners’ immediately
