Materials and Chemicals

• Concentrated sulphuric acid
• Test tube

Procedure

• Take sample (1 ml) in a test tube.
• Add concentrated sulphuric acid by the sides of the test tube.

Inference

• Development of brown fumes indicative of nitrite in the sample.
