Hand shears or powered scissors

These are normally used when cutting only single or double plies and are often used in the cutting room. Left handed shears are also available since cutting line is not visible if right handed shears are used by a left handed person. The disadvantage of the method lies in the time it consumes and high labour cost per garment, but it is appropriate for made-to-measure garments. Some are the most sophisticated hand shears are laser guided (fig2).
