Round Knife

This is a very fast machine, excellent for cutting straight lines or gradual curves. Blade sizes range from 4 cm to 20cm in diameter and effective cutting height is about 40 percent of the blade diameter.

The elements of a round knife are a base plate, above which is mounted on electric motor, a handle for the cutter to direct the blade, and a circular blade rotating so that the leading edge cuts downwards into the fabric. Round knives (video) (fig4) are not suitable for cutting curved lines in high lays.
