Expected Learning Outcome
- Bundh breeding of major carps – types of bundh, understanding of factors favoring breeding of carps in bundh.
- Concept of Induced breeding and environmental factors affecting breeding of carps .
- Fish pituitary gland, collection and preservation and methods of preparation of pituitary extract .
- Selection of dosage of pituitary extract for injection of carps.
- Understanding of synthetic hormones, application dosage and other spawning agents.
- Brood stock management and transportation. How to maintain health status of brooders by nutrition and health management .
- Learning identification of sex of brooders, different protocols in breeding - injection of spawning agents, spawn collection, examination of fertilized eggs and assessing fertility rate.
- Induced breeding of exotic carps and understanding the embryonic developmental stages
