6.3.4. Food and feedingCrabs feed mainly on smaller crustaceans, fishes and molluscs, polychaetes, detritus, bits of plant and other decaying organic materials.
Spawning season
These crabs breed throughout the year with peak seasons and spawning may take place twice or more in a season. Peak breeding and recruitment seasons vary from region to region.
Fecundity
The number of eggs laid by a female crab ranges from about 50,000 to over a million.
