2.2.2.1 Cuticle

        Cuticle is made up of mucopolysaccharides which are 1 µm thickness. Cuticular layer contains specific immunoglobulins, lysozymes and free fatty acids which are believed to have anti-pathogen activity. Physical consistency of cuticle varies considerably between species based on its habitat.
