Balance and Control of emotions- Emotional catharsis

As children learn to curb the external expressions of their emotions they become nervous, tense. They show temper outburst at the slightest provocation on anybody in their soundings. They discover means more often by trial and error than by guidance.

Clearing the system of pent-up emotional energy is referred as emotional catharsis

They can clear their pent up emotions through both physical or mental catharsis to get new perspectives in eliminating or minimizing their emotions.

Parental abuse leads to child’s hightend emotions

Once they discover the means they will conform with the social expectations.

Note: By the time of late childhood, Children will discover different forms of emotional catharsis that meet their needs and help them to cope with the control of their emotions which the social group expect s of them.
