Lesson 16: Nutritional Care for Infants

Introduction

The first year of life is a time of phenomenal growth and development. To attain full potential, the infant needs an abundant supply of nutrients. However each infant is an individual and has his own unique needs and growth potential and these must be kept in mind when taking care of the infant. Infants form a special group of individuals because any neglect in their care and nutrition has a permanent effect and often cannot be rectified.
