This medium is very old. In this form, the drum is beaten and the attention of the audience is arrested and then the message is delivered. This medium is normally used to inform the people about some happenings or other important extension activities. This is mostly preferred by the rural people as it is used for dissemination of information followed by drum beating eg for giving message about meeting, demonstration, field-day or any other activity. In these days in Punjab, announcements are given through-mikes or public address system from religious institutions; Chowkidars of the village also do this job.
