Lesson 10 : Neckline Finishes

Introduction

The neckline is the top edge of a garment that surrounds the neck. It frames the face and directs the eye either towards or away from the face. It is primarily a style line, but it can also be a boundary for shaping, e.g., cowls, darts or pleats. A neatly finished neckline adds to the overall look of the garment. Necklines are finished with either facing or binding or with collars.
