Incomplete milking

INCOMPLETE MILKING

  • The practice of incomplete milking in course of drying off cows is not desirable. The degree to which lactation is maintained is called persistency of milk.
  • Persistency percentage of over 90% is desirable as it results in high lactation yield in comparison to cows with equal peak yield but lower persistency.
  • Low lactation persistency owes to the practice of incomplete milking.
