BASIC PRINCIPLES

  • There are 4 basic principles of machine milking management which must ensure that
    • Cows are ready for milking.
    • Cows are not nervous or excited either by strange surroundings or unusual noises.
    • The teats and udder of the cows are stimulated by washing in clean warm water.
    • Teat cups are applied within stipulated period of washing.
  • As soon as the milking operation is complete udder should be washed main with antiseptic solution. Moreover milk utensils and teat cups are immediately washed with warm water at 38-43°C (100.4-109°F) temperature.
