2.2.5 Ultrasonic and Sonic waves

In ultrasonic range (frequency of 15,000 Hz and more) sound waves denature proteins, disperse a variety of materials and sterilize and fragment bacteria. This method is not used as means of sterilization, but it is useful for disrupting cells for experiments (Sonication).
