Anaerobic Culture Jar

 It is a steel or polycarbonate jar with a rubber sealing ring and a cover held in place by a strong bridge clamp used to culture anaerobic microbes. The cover is fitted with two needle valves for evacuation and a sachet containing a catalyst is placed inside it. The sachet is also known as gas pack and contains chemical which consume O2 and generate anaerobic conditions. Once the inoculums is placed inside the sachet is opened and the lid is closed firmly.
