Laminar air Flow Chamber/Bench
The laminar air flow chamber or bench is a device which allows filtered air supply for performing tasks where sterile environment is required. It protects against contamination by ensuring that the work in process within the bench area is exposed to HEPA (High efficiency particulate arrester) filtered air, HEPA filters are capable of removing/filtering microorganisms from air. When the entire air within a confined area flows in unidirectional velocity it is termed as laminar air flow. In this, air is drawn from the base or top of the hood by a blower motor through a pre-filter and pushed through the HEPA filter. Filtered air is directed horizontally over the work surface at a constant velocity towards the user. |
