Balance

            A balance is a device used to measure the mass of an object by comparing it with known mass.  Different types of balances are used in a laboratory.  Some of these are:    

1. Bearn balance or laboratory balance

2. Analytical balance or physical balance

3. Top-loading balance

4. High-precision election balance

Modern balances are monopan balance with digital liquid crystal display with built-in calibration weight to maintain accuracy.
