Historical Findings

  • Feces vary from semiformed to liquid
  • High frequency of defaecation with small fecal volume
  • Often demonstrate prolonged tenesmus after defecation
  • Chronic diarrhea often with mucus or blood; cats may have formed feces with hematochezia.
  • Vomiting inĀ dogs
  • Weight loss is rare.
