Process of macaroni production

  • The process consists of addition of water to semolina to produce 31 percent moisture.
  • Mixing these ingredients, obtaining plastic homogenous mass.
  • Extruding the mass through dies under pressure for the product to come out in shape.
  • Products are dried and packed.
  • Most macaroni products are made by batch process where there is a mixer to mix semolina and water for 10 minutes.
  • It is then placed in chamber of hydraulic press and extruded.
  • Recently the functions of mixing, kneading and extruding are combined in the continuous process.
