Vocational Dimension

It is a new dimension. When work is fully adapted to human goals, capacities and limitations, vocation plays a role in promoting both physical and mental health. Physical work is generally associated with an improvement in physical capacity; goal achievement and self realization in work are a source of satisfaction and enhanced self esteem.

The importance of this dimension surfaces when an individual suddenly lose their jobs, or faces mandatory retirement. To a group of people vocational dimension is a means of earning livelihood while for another group, it represents culmination of the efforts of other dimensions as they function together to lead a successful life.
