Lighting Standards

• Eye responds to illumination ranging from 0.1 lux (full moon) to 100,000 lux (sunshine)
• A useful rule of thumb is that the illumination level should be 30 times higher than the level at which the task can just be done.
• Yet, subjective comfort should be noted for providing light
• It is better to err on too much light, provided glare can be avoided
