Lesson 12:Categories of Assessment Tests

Language and Communication

1. Sequenced inventory for Communication Development (SICD) :
• It is suitable for children from 4months to 4 years.
• It assesses receptive and expressive language skills.


2. Preschool language Scale -3 (PLS-3):
• Suitable for children from birth to 6 years.
• It covers auditory comprehension and expressive communication.


3. Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamental Preschool:
   It identifies nature and degree of language disabilities in the language areas of processing, production and speech sounds.


4. Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test (PPVT-R):
• Suitable for children from 2.5 years to 40 years.
• It measures vocabulary in English and nonverbal receptive.
• Test uses picture recognition for single word vocabulary.


5. Test of Early Language Development (TELD):
Suitable for children from 3 years to 7 years.


6. Transdisciplinary Play based Assessment (TBA)
