Holiday Home

The central social welfare Board is engaged is developing and encouraging welfare services for women and children is the country; sponsored a scheme of holiday homes which was being implemented through the Indian council for child welfare. Under this scheme, children in the age group of 12 – 16 years, whose parents are come was below or eligible to avail the facilities of holiday homes.

Children based on their age, sex, parents income, physical fitness, special needs of a child etc. or get admitted in the holiday homes for one month stay. Services provided in the holiday homes are

  1. Physical Recreation: Sports, group games, indigenous games, athletics, gymnasium, indoor and outdoor games.
  2. Cultural activities: Signing, dancing, music, drama, fancy dresses, film-shows, camp fire and puppet shows.
  3. Social service and work camps
  4. Intellectual Recreation: Debates, library, reading room, workshops, wall newspapers, etc.
  5. Hobbies: Collecting stamps, coins, flowers, butterflies and marble, arts and crafts, photography, embroidery, book-binding, cobbling, printing, leather-work, laundry etc.
  6. Spiritual activities: Prayers, discourses etc.
  7. Scouting: N.C.C and A.C.C activities
  8. Hiking: Nature study and picnics, general activities etc.
  9. Prize distribution: Competitions and objective tests and any other item according to local needs and resources.
