Youth Counselling- Meaning

Without proper guidance to the youth in making adjust¬ment with his personality, family group, school, vocation and opposite sex, some maladjustments are bound to arise and, therefore, in the absence of proper guidance the adolescents might grow into adults with emotional maladjustments or mental illness. In order to prevent occurrence of all these prob¬lems in adulthood, it is necessary to organize youth counsel¬ing service. Counselling, therefore a process of helping the youth to understand himself, his environment and his problems and to help him to take decisions in order to bring about harmonious relationship with his personality and social groups, both primary and secondary.
