Genital stage (12 to 14 years)

• At puberty the person reaches the final stage of sexual development when he/she feels the awakening of sexual drive for the first time.
  
• From this time onwards the ego will have to work hard since there are social restrictions, as well as the compulsions placed by Super Ego.
  
• The adult personality reflects how well the ego manages to do this at this stage.
