Hazardous Buildings

Any building or any part of a building which is used for the storage, handling, manufacture or processing of highly combustible or explosive materials or products which are liable to burn with extreme rapidity and / or which produces poisonous fumes or explosions for storage, handling, manufacturing or processing which involves highly corrosive, toxic, or noxious alkalis, acids or other liquids or chemical producing flame, fumes and explosive poisonous, irritants or corrosive gases; and for the storage, handling or processing of any material producing explosive mixtures of dust or which results in division of matter into fine particles subjected to spontaneous ignition.

Examples of hazardous buildings are those which are used for

  1. Storage and handling of hazardous and highly flammable liquids
  2. Storage and handling of hazardous and highly flammable liquids or explosive materials other than liquids and
  3. Manufacture of artificial flowers, synthetic leather, ammunition, explosives and fireworks.
