Semi-Ambulatory

Impairments that cause individuals to walk with difficulty or insecure. Individuals using braces or crutches, amputees, arthritics, spastics and those with pulmonary and cardiac ills may be semi-ambulatory.

For walking aids users to move securely, ground and floor surfaces should be even and slip resistant. Handrails should be provided on stairs and ramps. Resting places should be provided along travel routes.
