Landscaping in public transport places

  • Developing landscape in public transport places is one important aspect of bio-aesthetic planning. The public transport places should be aesthetic and appealing. Many people use the services of public transport corporations. The emissions of vehicles create air pollution, noise pollution and so on. Developing landscape in and around these places will not only pleasing and attractive but also control the air and noise pollution.
  • The Railway station and the railway lines should be properly landscaped with flowering or foliage trees.
  • A well- kept and well – planted railway platform gives a passerby or passenger in a running train the first impression about the place.
  • The stations platform is a place for evening recreation or a place for morning walk for people living in nearby places.


  • Concrete seats or benches can be constructed around the trunk or under the canopy of beautiful trees planted for the benefit of the passengers to rest while waiting for the train.
  • Tubs and troughs planted with palms and other attractive plants can be placed on the platform.
  • Interstate bus terminals and bus stations developed at various places need to be landscaped
  • Airports can be beautified by planting ornamental trees, lawns, flower beds, and displaying plants in tubs and trough.
  • Various beautiful flowering trees, which can withstand drought conditions are recommended for planting on railway lines and bus stations.
