Rest Periods

Lesson 42 : Managing Fatigue And Stress
Methods of Relieving Fatigue

1. Rest Periods:

The first method of removing fatigue is introducing rest periods in between the work. Rest periods are of value both for increasing output and for alleviating fatigue. The kind or rest periods should be related to the kind of fatigue, to be most effective. The effectiveness of a rest period is related to the completeness of relaxation.

To alleviate physiological fatigue, there must be cessation of physical activity to allow time for fatigue products to be removed from the body and in the cases of greater fatigue, time for the store of glycogen to be replenished. Only in sleep the body can entirely eliminate physiological fatigue.
