Introduction

A fireplace is an important place in any home. A fireplace can really provides a lot of warmth in the winter and turns ornamental at other times. The fireplace parts are significant in the beauty and outlook of the fire place. They are also very important because they can also enhance the look and raise the durability of the fireplace.

A fireplace is an architectural structure to contain a fire for heating and, especially historically, for cooking. When the weather turns cold, it becomes essential to build a fire in the fireplace and enjoy some cozy family time around the hearth.

Fireplaces are a central household feature, as the flames and crackling sounds are comforting, even when not necessary for heat or cooking. Most fireplaces are used for fires less than 1% of the time, but when in use they provide heat for people or for cooking, some light and ventilation, which are hard to control. Fire places and fires are costly. A fire place may cost as much as a bathroom in most cases. Fuel wood is also costly and occupies place for storing and drying. Even though fireplaces are out of date in terms of use and economy today, they do serve some useful purposes in high altitude zone and peak winter areas.

A fire is contained in a firebox or firepit; a chimney or other flue directs gas and particulate exhaust to escape.

But open fires are beautiful and fire places even without fires can be substantial centers of interest. A fire warm constantly changing beautiful shapes and coloured flavors and embers produce a kind of lighting equaled only by sunrises and sunsets. Open fires are also associated with pleasurable outings and one which lifts spirits on a cold, cheerless day or night in the colder countries.

Almost all fire places consist of three elements;

  • a grate where the fuel is burned
  • a mantel piece usually made from marble stone or wood .Fireplace mantels are a focus for interior decoration, and
  • a hearth which protects the floor from ash
