The terms which are used to describe certain portions of collars.
Neckline edge: The edge of the collar that is stitched to the neckline of the garment.
Collar edge: The outer edge or styleline of the collar.
Collar stand: The underneath part of the collar that supports the folded over section. It is described by its height (the distance from neckline edge). The shape of the neckline edge controls the collar by either allowing it to lie flat or forcing it upward to form a stand. Collar and stand can be developed in one or two pieces.
Roll line: The place where the collar folds over, dividing the collar into stand and outer collar sections.
Style Line: The outer edge of the collar where trimming may be added.
Folding Line: The actual point along which the roll appears when collar is being worn. It may be imaginary or pressed into a flat edge as in tailored suit types.
