When costly yarn is being used in weaving this is an important factor to be considered. There are two kinds of wastes – the visible waste and the invisible waste
Visible waste:
In case of warp the yarn is wasted in winding when cops and bobbins are spoiled and cannot be woven. At slasher there is more wastage as one or more beams are liable to run out before others owing to inaccurate measurements of warp in beaming whereas negligible wastage is seen in looming. Wastage of weft yarn is seen in threading shuttles and due to spoiled bobbins.
Invisible waste:
When yarn with high moisture content is used in weaving, later there will be a loss in weight which can be categorized under invisible waste. Loss in bleaching also occurs due to the removal of waxy substances. This invisible waste is applicable for both warp and weft.
