Technical constraints

Lesson 47 : Strategies for Transfer of Home Science Technology and Constraints in Adoption

Technical constraints

  1. Non-availability of material- The materials which are required for adoption of new idea may not be adequately available, both quality and quantity wise to continue the decision.

  2. Inaccessibility to supporting systems- The adoption of an idea may require some supporting system like, for example market or market information. If this is not available, the adoption may be discontinued.

  3. Inadequate knowledge- At times there may be a danger of inadequacy in knowledge to answer the post application issues. In such cases the adoption may be discontinued.

  4. Low/no information reach- Lack of infrastructure and resources to access the needed information may result in no and low information reach, which will be a constraint to continue the adoption.

  5. Low degree of compatibility- On a small scale when tried the new idea might have resulted as intended. But when tried on large scale, a constraint may be encountered, which constraints the sustainability process.

  6. Lack of monitoring system- If the person who diffused the technology for adoption is not in access to the adopter at frequent intervals, the adopter feels the gap in knowledge input process. Hence show disinterest to continue with the new idea.
