Direct Media Advertising

  • Post Card:
    It is a direct way of sending messages to acknowledge, to announce the meeting and to make an offer. It is very economical but it limits in confidentiality and brevity.
  • Envelop enclosure:
    In an envelope, circulars, folders, brouchers etc., are enclosed which contains messages.
  • Broad sides:
    It is a large size advertisement folder. It is of jumbo size, typographical and illustrative display. The usual sizes are 17” x 22” / 19” x 25” / 25” x 28” and are called spectaculars in print. They are distributed to wholesalers and retailers than to the customers.
  • Booklets:
    It is a very small book consisting of not more than 8 to 10 pages fastened with staples or glue. It is designed for thorough reading and study with the intention of keeping it for future reference and sent in an envelope. But limited products and services are included.
  • Catalogues:
    They are similar to booklet in physical make-up, except that it is much larger and presents wider range of products of the business house. Unlike booklet it presents prices and wider sales literature which can be used as reference material.
  • Sales letters:
    It is the silent ambassador of the firm speaking about the company products or the services. The success of the sales letter depends on its convincing, appealing and impelling capacity of the information and tone of stationery, the style of writing and the theme. The letter is structured on A-I-D-A principle.
  • Gifts & Novelties:
    Gift advertisements or specialty advertisements are the medium that employs useful articles known as advertising specialties or the gift-novelties. They are presented to selected audience free of cost or obligation and act as good will or reminder gifts. These can be broadly classified as – novelties, calendars and executive gifts.
  • Store publications:
    It is a magazine or a bulletin published by the company for the purpose of promoting good will and molding the public opinion.
  • Package inserts:
    It includes packages, labels and inserts. Though a package is a container protecting the contents and facilitating easy handling, storage and transportation, it is a very effective means of carrying message about the product.
  • Sampling:
    It is a method of distributing samples of the products to prospective customers free of cost. Cheaper products and products of repeat sales are mostly advertised through sampling. Door to door distribution, delivery through the dealers, delivery against coupons and sales through vending machines are the different types of sampling advertisements.
