• Long flattened chisel shaped snout
• 4 pairs of barbels, maxillary pair reaching no further than pelvic fins
• Found in Indian rivers and in neighboring countries
• Grows up to 1.8 m
• Predatory, feeds on small insects and gastropods
• Breeds during April to May
