Principle
Dissolved oxygen and carbon-di-oxide can be estimated at regular time interval by titrating the sample in presence of reagents. Increase in dissolved CO2 level indicates release of CO2 by fish and decrease in DO indicates consumption of O2by fish during respiration. The amount of CO2 in water can be estimated any time by direct titration with standard NaOH (N/44) or Na2CO3(N/22) solution till phenolphthalein end point. The dissolved oxygen can be estimated by “Winklers titration” method. |
