Liver

Hepatocytes (Parenchymal cells) are dominant type of cells, present in the liver. These ranges in shape from oval to irregular polygons. The hepatocytes are arranged as tubule of cells. A tubule viewed in cross sections is usually surrounded by 5-7 hepatocytes with their apices directed towards the central bile canaliculus or peduncle. These tubules are surrounded by the sinus oids which take the place of capillaries in the liver.

These cells are well endowed with secretory and biosynthetic structures such as Golgi bodies and rough endoplasmic reticulum.
