Kidney
The kidney of teleost comprises haemopoietic, reticuloendothelial, endocrine and excretory elements. Kidney is divided into anterior or head kidney, largely composed of haemopoetic elements and posterior or excretory kidney. The anterior kidney comprises of adrenal cortex cells and single nodule of neurosecretory neurons forming the adrenal medulla. The stroma of haemopoetic,tissue is well endowed with individual dark brown melanomacrophage cells;glomerulus and renal tubules. |
