Aim: To fix the vessel’s position by horizontal and vertical sextant angles. Learning Outcome: At the end of this practicals student will be able to calculate the vessels position and distance between shore objects and vessels by using sextant angles Materials Required: Marine Sextant , Given nautical chart, parallel ruler, compass and pencil Procedure: The marine sextant is an optical instrument used to measure vertical and horizontal angles between objects.
