Rope works
Rope works are categorised under seamanship and there are four types of rope works are generally useful in seamanship and any type of fishing activities. They are 1) Knots 2) Bends 3) Hitches 4) Splices A knot is an interweaving of the parts of one or more ropes cords, made for the purpose of fastening them together or to something else. Bends are special class of knots used specifically for fastening or bending ropes together end to end. Hitches are another special group of knots, used principally to fasten a rope or line to an object such as a post spar or other line. Splicing means interlocking the strands so as to join two ropes or form an eye of a rope. |
