• Traditionally the Ectoparasiticide market has been satisfied primarily by reformulation of compounds developed  and tested for crop protection
• Only in recent years there has been an introduction of a few new products with novel mode of action exclusively for animals eg. Insect growth regulators
• The methods of application has also improved – to make it easier to use / prolong period of drug action / increased spectrum of chemical activity.
